About Sunday Salmon
Our Mission: Community, Connection, Compassion

Sunday Salmon began nearly a decade ago as a family meal prepared every Sunday by our founder, Mary Grothe. For years, Mary invited friends and family into her home to share a simple yet delicious meal of salmon and vegetables. In 2024, Mary received a vision to extend this tradition to the broader Castle Rock community, transforming her meal into Sunday Salmon: a community meal designed to nourish both body and soul.

We recommended making a reservation here, as we have a small restaurant! We seat up to 12 guests at each community table, serving up to 48 guests per hour, and serve each table family-style. We have two dinner seatings each Sunday night, the first seats between 5 pm - 5:15 pm and the second seats between 6:30 pm - 6:45 pm.

WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAY APRIL 20th!

We are an alcohol-free restaurant and offer NO-COST organic, gluten, and seed-oil free meals. We accept donations if you'd like to help us cover our expenses, but it is not required. We have room for about 12 walk-ins every hour. So if the slots are full, come on down and we will do our best to seat you!
Future Vision
The restaurant will operate on Sundays for the first half of the year with the intention of opening for dinner service during the week—eventually! The venue will be rented out for celebrations and events on during the week and Saturdays, for additional supportive income to fund our community impact fund and other services. We will also offer cooking and nutrition classes, as well as meal prep services in the future to ensure our neighbors never go without a wholesome, delicious meal. To make this future vision a reality, we would love for you to consider donating here.

The Future
As we expand...
Now that we have a permanent location, we will operate as a full-service restaurant on Sundays, starting January 5th, 2025 at 5 pm, with the mission to ensure every neighbor has a seat at our table, with delicious, gourmet organic meals.
We seat groups of 10 to 12 people as they come in, some from different groups/families, and serve the table family style. We are funded by generous individuals, businesses, and organizations, which allows us to offer a full-service free community meal on Sundays to ensure that every neighbor in Castle Rock has access to an organic delicious home-cooked meal.
On Mondays through Saturdays, we rent out our facility for events and other celebrations. We offer a generous rental rate and options for catering, if desired.
At every full-service dinner and event rental, we include the option for donation for the meals on Sunday and to the Community Impact Fund. These services are marketed on the table tents and posters on the walls that have QR codes so guests can donate at any time as well.
Our Neighbors
Receive...
We offer no-cost dining for our neighbors who are in need. They are welcome to dine by themselves or with their families, for free. We encourage all our neighbors to dine on Sundays and meet each other! Relationships cause transformation! If you can pay for your meal, great! If you can't, no problem!
During the weekdays, when the facility is not rented out, we will eventually offer cooking and nutrition classes for our members, which double as a meal prep session. We will partner with two local grocery stores that donate excess organic produce and other items. We use those food donations and other purchased groceries for our cooking classes. Each neighbor takes home at least 3 cooked meals for their family for the week.
